This website highlights the teaching career of Vanessa Miller who’s based out of New York City and directs a makerspace program at a private k-8 school. She’s been teaching in the independent school system for the past 10 years with a focus on visual arts ranging from stop-motion animation, graphic design, 3D design & modeling and utilizing designs for a laser cutter. Vanessa is inspired by the STEAM & Maker Movements and aims to give her students the tools to problem solve while experimenting with different tools and mediums. In 2010 Vanessa earned a Masters Degree from the New School in Media Arts and in 2005 graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies.
